Bones Big Balls Bearings

Bones Big Balls skate bearings are a very interesting evolution of the skate bearing. Bones are well known for taking the standard 608 bearing to a new level for skateboarding, and with the Bones Big Balls (And Bones Super Swiss Six Balls) they really have started from the ground up.

The difference between the Bones Big Balls and a regular skate bearing is simply, fewer, bigger balls. Otherwise, they're basically a set of standard Bones Super Reds.

A regular skate bearing has seven balls. Bones Big Balls and Super Swiss Six Balls have six, slightly bigger (17% bigger) diameter balls.

What this does is create a stronger bearing, better able to resist heavy side loads and the kind of impacts that heavy street skating puts into regular skateboard bearings.

Bones also claims that the bearing will spin fast when it's got dirt in the races, which we've not felt ourselves, but in theory makes sense. Bigger balls are definitely a good idea, and Bones are the only company we know that make a bearing like this.

Like all Bones Bearings in the "Reds" and "Swiss" series, they feature a non contact rubber shield on one side only for easy bearing cleaning whilst retaining as much speed as possible.

Bones Big Balls are a really good shout if you destroy bearings on a regular basis.

The more expensive version of this is the Bones Super Swiss Six Balls - essentially the same thing, but with better materials and finish, and like all Bones Swiss Bearings, deeper races and made in Switzerland.
