Bones Ceramic Super Reds Bearings
Bones Ceramic Super Reds are the cheapest Ceramic Bearings that Bones make. Built to the same standard as the Bones Super Reds, they feature seven ceramic balls per bearing cartridge.
Ceramic balls are lighter than steel and don't rust. As the ceramic material (Silicone Nitride in this case) is also harder than steel, it also acts to blast any dirt out of the inner and outer bearing races - so to a certain degree, these bearings are self cleaning.
Bones and other skate bearing manufacturers often describe ceramic balls as "self lubricating" - what they mean by this is that as it's not possible for the bearing to seize up (there's no steel-on-steel contact), you don't really need to keep them lubed in the same way.
Despite this, we do recommend that you give these bearings an overhaul every once in a while to maximise their life - but you definitely won't need to clean them as often as steel skate bearings.
Like all Bones Bearings in the "Reds" series, Bones Ceramic Reds are made in China, with a standard single contact rubber shield on one side only for easy cleaning and decent roll speed. Similar to the Bones Super Reds, they feature swanky Laser Etching on the outer race, and a distinctive "bone" shield so everyone knows you have expensive bearings!
